At what point do we stop feeling sorry for the down-trodden? Poor - TopicsExpress

At what point do we stop feeling sorry for the down-trodden? Poor choices? Addictions? Bad events? Regardless of how one gets there, when do we draw the line in looking the other way? Sure we can help, but when we choose not to help as we surely cannot help them all, and we see outright wrongdoings, do you stop them? Just watched a young man walk into a coffeeshop, ask for a tall water, he emptied about 3/4ths of it into a garbage can, then filled it back up with every type of coffee cream available, then dumped all the extra toppings into his mix. That was easily $5 worth of cinnamon. Yes, this was likely his meal for the day, but no, this does not make it his right to steal. As he realized i was watching, he bolted. Each of us could be having a worse day, but again, when do you hold somebody accountable?
