At what point is it okay to strike an officer for breaking and entering. You know in court that would look bad as assaulting a police officer, But if anybody else breaks and enters your home you have the right to protect yourself, and in some states, the right to use a fire arm. Notice, the officer breaks and enters never showing a warrant to do so even after the person clearly is not permitting him in the home. Also notice the officer never answers the question why he is making the arrest. Any arrestee has the right to know why they are being detained which the officer must answer when asked. If you listen closely you can hear the deputy responded, I dont answer to you. Officers also must provide their name and badge number when asked as well. Police are not military. They are civilians granted certain civil powers to serve and protect their communities and enforce the law. I ask, when is it okay to grab the officers side arm and ask him to peacefully leave your property. But the videographer did the smart thing and got it all on video which can be used against the police dept later in court. Unfortunately (from what I researched so far) the name of this deputy hasnt been released. Oh, and if youre curious, the man was charged with battery of a police officer, resisting arrest and disturbing the peace. Further consideration: Im sorry but if a police officer entered my home in such a fashion I would have smacked him pretty hard if not shot him. And when asked about it later in court (for assault and battery of an officer Im sure), I would say the man would not identify himself, or why he entered my home and attacked my friend/family in my home with out cause or warrant. This man could have been some random criminal portraying himself as a cop to get what he wants. Society has rules on how we conduct ourselves in such matters which this officer has broken every one of them multiple times. And hes lucky that dog was friendly.
