Ateshgah is located in the Area of Surakhani, outside of Baku city. As we know that Zoroastrian faith started in 6th B.C. But when Muslims came to this place and persecuted the Zoroastrians, many of them migrated to India. In India they met with local hindu people and saw them worshiping fire. Zoroastrian people told hindus of sub-continent about the holy fire in Baku. Some of the Hindus and Sikhs came here in the first half of the seventeenth century via Grand Trunk road slik highway spesially from Multan. Many of them settled here.
