Atheist dudes often condemn the misogyny in patriarchal religions, but many of these atheist dudes are also hostile towards feminism. It is as if they thought misogyny is acceptable to a degree, but some people simply take it TOO FAR! Likewise, many European and North American men, atheists or otherwise, are strongly opposed to the ways in which women are oppressed in predominantly Muslim countries, but they revile feminism in the West. They appear to think womens oppression is at a tolerable level in the West, but Muslim countries are taking the oppression of women too far. Or perhaps they simply think the oppression of Muslim women is wrong because it DIFFERS from the oppression of women in First World nations. There is no such thing as a tolerable level of misogyny. Atheist men who rail against the misogyny in the Bible and in the Koran but cannot stand feminists are a bunch of hypocrites. European and North American men who find forced marriages, female genital mutilation, honor killings, burqas and niqabs, and other aspects of womens oppression in predominantly Muslim nations appalling but ridicule, and sometimes even demonize, feminism in the West are hypocrites as well. Either the oppression of women is wrong or it isnt. People cannot just choose to oppose certain forms of womens oppression but to accept others.
