Atheist gunmen attack Al-Bakistan Times’ office for a cartoon showing God’s existence London: Two gunmen, who were armed with assault rifles and sniper guns, stormed Al-Bakistan Times’ office here on Tuesday at 7.35 AM local time and fired 50 shots shouting ‘God is Nowhere,’ killing 7 people and leaving 34 people seriously injured. The banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Atheist has claimed responsibility for the attack. The attack is claimed to be in protest of a cartoon we published about a week ago which says ‘God is everywhere.’ “We have avenged the insult of our beloved ideology,” said the statement releases by LeA immediately after the attack. Mr. Nastik Kuffur, spokesperson of LeA, posted on his Facebook page, “We would like to make it clear that claiming God’s existence is blasphemous according to our belief. Its extremely offensive to our community. We request all of you to stop believing in god and accept atheism. If not, then be ready for a war. Atheism will rule the world.” Millions took to Twitter and other social networking sites to show their outrage over the attack. “These modern free thinkers should be shot at sight. They have no place in a world where we have stone age beliefs,” tweeted a user from Saudi Arabia. The most retweeted tweet was from Dr. Zakir Naik, who tweeted “This is the attack on freedom of expression. People should have right to insult every ideology except Islam. Very deplorable indeed.” Many liberal atheists have condemned the attack, however they demanded that the freedom of expression should be redefined. An atheist on the condition of anonymity, said, “Though we don’t support such acts, but I think it was a retaliation. There was no need to offend the atheists. Why publish a cartoon showing God’s existence which is considered blasphemous by us? hain? RIP anyways.” Some atheists refused to accept that the gunmen were atheists. “This is the conspiracy of Muslims to defame and malign our ideology. Moreover, if the gunmen were really the atheists, then they are misinterpreting our beliefs. Atheism means peace. We have nothing to do with terrorism.” The terrorist group is banned by 120 countries for not having extreme interpretation of any religious holy book, and the group is said to have close links with other extremist groups like DHamas, Atheist Qaeda and Boko Kafir. The police have launched the manhunt for those involved in the attack. DISCLAIMER: The article is a work of satire and fiction and in no way attempts to depict events in real life.
