Athletics Kenya (AK) has offered a scholarship to Commonwealth javelin champion Julius Yego to help him in his preparation for the 2016 Olympics, report the-star.co.ke. “I am very happy with the scholarship offer,” said the 25 year old. “This demonstrates the federations’ commitment in developing the sport. “I have been yearning for an Olympic medal and I will use this opportunity to fully prepare for the Games.” Yego advised AK to give scholarships to younger javelin throwers to help in their development.
