Atiku, Tinubu lead Buhari campaign in North, South Print Email Category: News Published on Thursday, 08 January 2015 05:00Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Lagos State Governor Ahmed Tinubu and former chief of army staff Abdulrahman Dambazau are among those appointed to lead the campaign team of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Muhammadu Buhari. A statement by the campaign office Tuesday night named Atiku as vice chairman (North) and Tinubu vice chairman (South) of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the February 14 elections. Already, River State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has been appointed as Secretary/Director General of the campaign. Retired General Dambazau was appointed head of the security directorate; former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, head of policy, research and strategy directorate; and media and publicity directorate to be headed by Atiku’s spokesperson Malam Garba Shehu. The statement named Buhari as chairman of the campaign council, with his running mate Prof Yemi Osibanjo as alternate chairman; while APC national chairman Chief John Oyegun will serve as deputy chairman.Other members of the council are Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah, Dr S. Jaja, Prince Tony Momoh, Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, Chief A. Ogbegie, Alhaji Mala Buni, Alhaji B. Gwagwarwa, Sen. Osita Izunaso, Sen. Lawal Shuaibu and Chief S. Oni. There are also Governors Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Raji Fashola (Lagos), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso (Kano), Ibrahim Gaidam (Yobe), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), and Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara). Other council members include Chief Oyo Kola, Sen. Chris Ngige, Sen. Abubakar Ibrahim, Sen. Kabir Gaya, Sen. George Akume, Sen. Bukola Saraki, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, Prince Abubakar Audu, Sen. Danjuma Goje and Sen. Ahmad Sani Yarima. Former PDP national chairman, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, Hajia Ramatu Tijjani, Jasper Azutalam, Sharon Ikeazor, Abike Dabiri Erewa, House of Representatives Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Rep Femi Gbajabiamila and Rep Temi Harriman, are also members of the council. Sen O. Mamora was named deputy director operations and former PDP national chairman Chief Audu Ogbeh deputy director coordination. The campaign zonal coordinators are Oshiomhole (South South), Aregbesola (South West) Chris Ngige (South East), Al Makura (North Central) Shettima (North East) and Wamakko (North West). Other heads of directorates are: Sokonte Davies (finance), Boss Mustapha (contact and mobilisation), T.O.E. Ekechi (election planning and monitoring), Chukwuma Ume (legal), Dasuki Jalo (youth mobilisation) Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani (women mobilisation) and Governor Fashola (fund raising).
