She is what we believe to be a purebred Maltese and she is about 7 years old, according to the vet. We believe, judging by the tattoos on her belly and in her ear, that she was a puppy mill breeder dog and raised in a cage with little to no human touch. She was found in a rural area, crouched in the middle of a highway, scared and shaking and we believe she was dumped out because she had probably outlived her usefulness being a mother dog. Now she has been fully vetted, spayed, had a dental done (and 14 teeth removed), pronounced healthy by the vet and she is as sweet as the day is long! She weighs 7 1/2 pounds, eats well (canned food or softened kibble) and loves to be loved on. She needs a quiet, calm but loving home so she can be treated kindly with a loving human touch. Her ideal home would be with someone who is home all day who could continue to assist her with her potty training. She is fully crate trained with no accidents. She will bark when she needs to potty! She still needs work for her house training however. She gets along well with other dogs--but would be fine without any other animal friends.
