Attached please find a video of Mr. Turkelson that was made last Sunday, November 9, 2014, at the annual awards dinner for the Lapeer County Citizens Probation Council. The Lapeer County Citizens Probation Council (CPC for short) is a group of volunteers that provides mentoring services for first time criminal offenders in Lapeer County. The purpose of the dinner was to honor and thank the CPC volunteers for all the hard work they do. This is a great program and a great event, thats run by Lapeer County Commissioner Cheryl Clark. In the video, Mr. Turkelson claims that as of October of 2013, he had stepped away from the investigation of Judge Konschuh and turned the case over to the Michigan Attorney Generals Office. He then states that the Attorney General assigned both an investigator and a prosecutor to the case, who I didnt know. Finally, he tells the group that, I dont think the system can work unless we separate ourselves from the system, take the personalities out of it, and let justice prevail . . . That being said, if anyone has any questions about it, and they want to ask me about it, Id be glad to talk to them. This would be good advice, except for the fact that the very last thing Tim Turkelson has done is step away from this case and take his personality out of it. He has instead held himself out to be the victim of the alleged crime, and spent his summer discussing potential plea offers with the special prosecutor, Mrs. Deana Finnegan. The proof is contained in the special prosecutors response to Judge Konschuhs Motion to Disqualify, which was filed with the Court on July 21, 2014. The relevant portions of Mrs. Finnegans response are shown in the photographs below. At paragraph 13 of the response, Mrs. Finnegan admits she met with Tim Turkelson on July 10, 2014, and again on July 14, 2014, which was months after Mr. Turkelson told the CPC volunteers he had stepped away from the case in October of 2013. At paragraph 15 of her response, Mrs. Finnigan admits that since July she has been treating Mr. Turkelson as the alleged crime victim in this case, because he is the head of the Lapeer County Prosecutors Office. At paragraph 16 of her response, Mrs. Finnigen admits she discussed plea offers with Mr. Turkelson prior to issuing the charges. Most damning of all, she admits at paragraph 17 of the response that all the plea offers she discussed with Mr. Turkelson involved Judge Konschuhs resignation from the bench. Its conduct like this -- i.e. telling the public one thing while doing the exact opposite behind their back -- that makes Mr. Turkelsons conduct in this case so terribly suspect. The evidence seems clear that while Mr. Turkelson wants the the public to believe hes stepped away from the case, hes actually been doing everything he can behind the scenes to make sure Judge Konschuh is removed from office. More than anyone else in this case, its Mr. Turkelson who should step away and take his personality out of it. That might leave open the possibility that Mrs. Finnegan and Judge Konschuh can reach a reasonable resolution, where Judge Konschuh continues to serve the People of Lapeer County as he has recently been re-elected to do. Towards the end of the video, a representative of Mr. Turkelsons tells the person filming the event to turn their camera off, because Mr. Turkelson hasnt given you permission to record him. Really? Is this what the attempts to manipulate public opinion have come to? Censoring people?
