Attempted Capital Murder & Aggravated Robbery Arrests On December 6, 2014 at 8:57am, the Springdale Police Department received a 911 call of a robbery at C&S Gun & Pawn Shop, 1208 South Thompson. Officers arrived on scene, and spoke to employees however the suspects had already fled the scene. Two black males approached the store on foot, entered and began walking around. Eventually the pair split up, pulled out what appeared to be black semi-automatic handguns and tried to rob the store. At some point after, gunshots were exchanged. Employees fired at suspects, and vice versa. It is possible that one of the suspects was hit, blood was found on scene. No employees were injured. The suspects then fled the store on foot. The Springdale Police Department put out information to all area law enforcement agencies about the suspects and a possible gunshot wound. A couple hours later, the Fort Smith Police Department responded to a Sparks Hospital for a black male with a gunshot wound. Springdale PD Detectives responded to Fort Smith to investigate any possible connection. The investigation revealed the person at the hospital was one of our robbery suspects. He was identified as 25 year old Marcus D Gould. The second suspect had dropped off Marcus earlier, but left the scene. Conveniently, he did return to check on Marcus, and was detained by Fort Smith PD. He was identified as 20 year old Leon Robertson. A search warrant was obtained for the red Buick LeSabre Leon was driving which revealed both guns used in the robbery, clothing, the black duffle bag and a stolen bracelet from the C & S Pawn. Both Marcus and Leon have been charged with Attempted Capital Murder and Aggravated Robbery. Leon is currently being transported to the Washington County Detention Center by Springdale PD. Fort Smith PD is assisting with a security detail on Marcus until he is released from medical care. His injuries are non-life threatening. A special thanks to Fort Smith Police Department for their assistance and cooperation in helping solve this case.
