Attended the 35th anniversary celebration of the Southern California Resource Services for Independent Living (SCRS-IL) at the Barbara Riley Senior Center in Downey. I congratulated SCRS-IL for its success in providing community education and individualized services that empower disabled Southern Californians to reach their personal goals. During my visit, I toured SCRS-IL’s new and improved computer learning center. I was surprised to learn that it has been renamed the Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard Learning Center, in recognition of my advocacy for the disabled community. What an honor!
