Attended the SG50 New Year Countdown at The Float at Marina Bay last night. Great party. But of course theres much more to it than that - it was a time for both celebration and reflection; for looking back as well as forward. As a young nation we have made amazing progress in the last 49 years. Our achievements are testimony to the pioneering spirit of Singaporeans - a flame that must be kindled anew with every successive generation. We will be celebrating our 50th year of independence in 2015. Theres a year long calendar of exciting activities, with something for everyone. Many have already started planning their SG50 activities. Hope everyone will join in, contribute and initiate your own projects - all these will become part of the tapestry of wonderful memories and beautiful moments of our Golden Jubilee. And as we do, lets also look forward to creating and building the Singapore of the future. That new journey and adventure begins here and now - in 2015! Happy New Year, everyone! #SG50
