Attending the Toronto Independent Music Awards event tonight. Awards can be awkward indeed. They bring up the possibility of competition between artists which is laughable in so many ways. How can one compare and judge the relative worth of one artist over another without that being a subjective personal opinion. Were all working at creating and communicating music, that most intangible of mediums. All that being said I am very proud of our nomination for best JAZZ artist and Best Song at this years TIMAs... Mostly because it shines a spotlight on the excellent team I am collaborating with: Engineer John Bailey, coproducer Daniel Barnes, musicians Russ Boswell and Michael Shand, Also the videos producer Leonardo DellAnno and directors Juan Camilo Palacio Ruíz and Louisa who created the video of New York Story (which helped shoot the single to #1 on the itunes Jazz chart).
