Attention. A dear community friend who lives just down the street on Jefferson expressed to me today that he was ordered to stop deadheading the rose bushes in the median right in front of our house. Evidently, a couple of people from the garden club that was so kind to install the landscaping around the chief paducah statue stopped him and were vehemently opposed to his kind gesture of help to the beauty of our community stating, our garden club takes care of this and you shouldnt be doing this...are you sure you are supposed to pinch off the rose buds? Etc. he has researched the proper ways to take care of these particular plants and is correct in his approach, as I have done the research as well. Sooooo We live directly in front of this marvel of landscaping and I can tell you that I have never seen any garden club member working to maintain this area. I have pruned and trimmed etc myself many times and so have my neighbors across the street. I welcome him to come and help any time he wants and if anyone has a problem with it please do not hesitate to knock on my door and I will be glad to speak with you about it and even direct you to projects you can help with to beautify our fair community. People can be so disappointing.
