Attention African American community: whitey dont like Kwanzaa, and frankly, its kinda exclusionary. Personally I think its stupid that a person can just make up a racial holiday. Juneteenth on the other hand has the potential to be something wonderful. I propose we drop Kwanzaa since nothing is being harvested here then anyway and showcase African American heritage on Juneteenth, an actual holiday with meaning rather than a figment of a lone activists imagination. Plus, it fits nicely between Memorial Day and July 4 rather than at the tail end of an already full holiday season. Its also shameful that whites and especially most blacks outside TX are ignorant of Juneteenth. I really have no problem with the concept of Kwanzaa, it would just be better Juneteenth. That is all.
