Some of the proposals that commercial fishermen seek to accomplish include: • Proposal 275 would cap the number of personal use permits issued in Cook Inlet; • Proposal 277 would only open the personal use fishery after escapement has been met (but allow commercial fisheries to fish); • Proposal 279 would restrict PU fishery to 7 am to 7 pm only; • Proposal 283 would reduce the household limits for PU fishery; • Proposal 285 would ban dipnetting from a boat; and • Proposal 287 would restrict dip net gear specifications.
