Attention Friends in Grants: A friend of mine had her house robbed Friday....in clear daylight! The guy that robbed her house has been identified because my friends husband was smart enough to install cameras in their home. The guy knocks at the door waits for a response and after a few minutes proceeds to walk into their backyard and break in through a window, entering their home. The camera footage shows everything.....him stealing a shotgun, an envelope full of money that she had saved in a drawer, a backpack full of electronics (laptop, phone, etc) and some jewelry among other things. This kid rummages through my friends personal belongings for about 20 minutes before he finally leaves......4 MINUTES before my friend tries to walk through her front door.....YES....4 minutes! Apparently, this has been happening all over.... someone knocks at a door.....if the door is answered, they ask if you would like yard-work or house hold chores done......but if no one answers the door, they break in and help themselves to whatever they want! Heres the kicker......this guy has not been arrested and is still out there! Everyone knows who he is and what he is doing.....but seems like nothing is being done about it. My friend has a newborn baby and is scared to death to be in her home because this kid lives just up the street. And to be honest....after seeing the video footage.... I am a little afraid for my own safety as well!! It sure seems that the law now days protects the guilty instead of the innocent...... Grants friends.....as a business owner who has gone through this 5 separate times.....I think it is important that the residents keep in close contact regarding what is happening in our neighborhoods!! Be careful and if you see something that does NOT look right.....bring it to everyones attention! This has to stop!
