Attention Local Non Profit Agencies: The Center for Service & Civic Engagement at Wilmington College offers a select number of community work study positions. These positions allow us to place students who qualify for work-study funding at local non-profit/educational agencies. We are currently recruiting work-study sites and students. If you are interested in hosting a student, please follow the link below and submit a work study contract and job description for your position. Our practice is to try and place at least one student with each qualifying agency. If our budget allows, we will discuss placing a second student with a site. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to the wonderful hands-on experiences our students will get while working at your agency. For more information, visit our work-study site below. Work Study Process for Interested Non-Profit Agencies or Educational Institutions 1. Create a job description for the desired position. Please include items which allow the student to gain new marketable skills and a professional work ethic. 2. Complete the Work Study Agreement 3. Return documents to: Center for Service & Civic Engagement 1870 Quaker Way Pyle Center 1294 Wilmington, OH 45177 4. The Center for Service & Civic Engagement will recruit and select students based on availability, skill and interest. Remember, in many cases the students have not had much experience and may not come to you with a wealth of skills. This makes the work study opportunity a wonderful learning experience for our students. Please do not hire students for work study. There are limited funds and not all students qualify for these positions. For sites who prefer to interview the students first, we will notify you by email the students who are available and interested in your site. Once interviews are completed, we will discuss the placement of students. 6. Once student is placed with your agency, it is your responsibility to train them. Each student will keep a pink time card which covers a span of 2 weeks. The card must be signed to verify the student’s hours prior to the student turning in the card to the Center for Service & Civic Engagement.
