Attention NWCF crazies! Back by special request, along with a massive anticipated caloric intake in the coming weeks, I will be running a special post Thanksgiving Epic WOD on Sunday the 30th. Not only will this have the benefit of helping to burn off all of that stuffing and pumpkin pie, but it will also give you the appetite to rapidly go through some of those left overs as well. For those of you that were not around while these were being run on a regular basis, the Epic WODs are designed much more to test mental fortitude and over all stick-to-it-ness than any one aspect of fitness. They generally incorporate a little bit of everything - heavy weights, body wight, skill work, cardio, etc. - with the exception of when I say a little I mean a lot. Typically running a minimum of 45 minutes, with some getting up to 1 1/2 hours or longer, these are not for the feint of heart. However, if this sounds like a fun challenge or something just twisted enough that you might want to give it a try, consider joining the party. Just like everything in CrossFit, this WOD will be scalable as well, so no excuses about prescribed weight being to much or movements too complex. If there is enough interest (20+ people) I will consider opening up one extra Epic the week before Turkey day on Saturday the 22nd. In addition, with just a few yea votes I might make it a partner WOD as well. So spread the word, trick your friends into joining in on the fun and rest easy about that extra piece of pie a la mode, for Ive got just the remedy. Coach D P.S. Thanksgiving themed costumes are not required, but highly encouraged.
