Attention Nevada Film & Television Community! **URGENT PRIORITY** Our film tax incentive program is being targeted for de-funding by the governor. As part of the Tesla gigafactory deal, Gov. Sandoval is going to ask the legislature to divert $70M from the $75M remaining in our program. This will scare off many productions to come, which would be devastating to our local industry. It will set back our efforts, growth and development by years. It is crucial that we flood the Governors office, the GOED and Senate with emails and phone calls BETWEEN NOW AND MONDAY, letting them know that we dont want to give up our industry for 1 factory thats already getting more incentives than they asked for. The legislature spent an entire session debating our bill and determining the right levels for a 4-year pilot program. Defunding it after 8 months means the industry will never get a chance to grow the way it was meant to grow. While Tesla is a great company, and it will certainly be good for Nevada, there is no reason to provide it funding from another bill already doing the same thing... and already approved by those elected by the people.
