Attention all high school actors and actresses and aspiring!!! This came across my desk and I wanted to pass it along! The 8th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition, is FREE and open to all Greater Metro Atlanta high school students grades 9-12, of all backgrounds. The competition focuses on the plays of Mr. Wilson’s Century Cycle, ten plays written for each decade in the 1900s. Students will select and perform a monologue from one of the plays in the Cycle, and are invited to attend FREE acting workshops which help them to prepare for the preliminary auditions. Those advancing will have the opportunity to perform onstage at the Rialto Center for the Arts, receive scholarship money, and also win a free trip to New York City to compete in the Nationals!
