Attention all local Fort Walton Beachers: tonight we responded to - TopicsExpress

Attention all local Fort Walton Beachers: tonight we responded to a call about a very young raccoon at the Fort Walton Beach landing park. It was reported that the youngster appeared thin & was struggling to get around. It was able to climb a tree & was lost from sight. It is common that when young raccoons become separated from their mothers too early they become malnourished, appearing sickly & thin. They have little energy & often their symptoms can be confused with rabies or distemper which are much less common. We are asking anyone who may be attending the park to keep their eyes peeled for this orphaned baby & call us immediately if spotted. We may be reached at 850-650-1880. If it is after hours, please call FWC who can then contact our immediate responders. Thanks to everyone for their corporation!
