Attn Class of 1938: Florice M. Hubbard 1919 - 2014 PITTSFIELD - Florice M. Hubbard, 95, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. She was born in Pittsfield on Dec. 23, 1919, the daughter of Oliver C. and Florice (Dunton) Baker and lived most of her life in Pittsfield. She graduated from Maine Central Institute in 1938 and Westbrook Junior College in 1940. Following her graduation, she was employed at the First National Bank in Pittsfield. In 1943 she married her longtime sweetheart, Robert N. Hubbard and settled into being a wife, homemaker and mom. Florice truly enjoyed her family and her home. She adored being a grandmother. She did several kinds of needlework and was especially proficient at sewing and knitting. She loved reading, playing board games, watching the birds at her feeders, and spending time with her twin sister, Phyllis. They were both members of the Pittsfield Arts Club and in their younger years were known as the Singing Baker Twins, performing locally and on the radio. Florice was predeceased by her husband, Robert N. Hubbard in 1985; her twin, Phyllis Wright in 2007, her sister, Dorothy Seames, her brother, Charles W. Baker, and her half-sister, Ethel Thompson. Florice is survived by her daughter, Linda Dunning Cummings and her fiancé, William Peterson, both of Bangor; two grandchildren and their families, Robert Dunning and his wife Lisa of Orrington, and Duska Robinson and her husband Michael of Bangor; her great-grandchildren Ashley Lynne Perry and husband Brian, Cory Robert Dunning and wife Samantha, Ryan Robert Robinson, Freeman Albert Robinson and John Richard Robinson; one great-great-grandson Tucker Perry; and several nieces and nephews. At the request of the family, funeral services will be private. Interment will be at the Pittsfield Village Cemetery in the spring.
