Attn: Mr. Griffin, Spartan Blades Users Group Subject: Andy Franco, Calico Forge Knife Company, Nampa, Idaho. See below my open letter to your Users Group. I can provide his FaceBook address for confirmation. If Ive overstepped the guidelines or boundaries of your group I sincerely apologize. However, I wanted to alert your User Group to my experience with Andy Franco. Hopefully, I can warn potential customers of this alleged scam artist. Sincerely, Ken McD... Retired USAF and Navy Disabled Veteran _____________________________________________________ My letter to your group follows below. Respectfully submitted. K. McDee... Attn: Spartan Blades Users Group Subject: Mr. Andy Franco, Owner, Calico Forge Knife Company, 907 Sunny Lane, Nampa, ID 83651. Are you aware Mr. Andy Franco has allegedly been fraudulently screwing customers worldwide? Dear Spartan Blades Users Group: Are you aware that allegedly Mr. Andy Franco, Calico Forge Knife Company, is apparently scamming disabled veterans (and other customers worldwide) like me? I will provide my experience with this alleged scam artist who is a disgrace to ethical business professionals and insults the U.S. Army Ranger tradition. I ordered two knives from Mr. Franco in February 2014. I placed a deposit with Mr. Franco. Thereafter, Mr. Franco indicated that my two ordered knives were ready for shipment. He requested the balanced owed on the two knives. I obliged. Interestingly, he did not want payment by either PayPal or Visa/MasterCard. Why? Because it appears that apparently Andy Franco knows if customers dont receive the ordered items he was supposed to deliver-- both PayPal and Visa will reimburse the customer and take money out of Andy Francos account. Andy is a clever guy...you may initially believe. However, he has been caught. Several other individuals are now coming forth regarding Mr. Francos alleged scam. If you know Mr. Franco, please advise him that Im planning to report him to the Idaho Attorney Generals office and possibly the appropriate Federal Agency monitoring interstate commerce. Im a disabled veteran who served over twenty five years with the Navy and Air Force. My last two assignments were with Army personnel. I served honorably for my country. Why do I mention this military service experience? Mr. Franco claims he was some sort of U.S. Army Ranger. He proudly announces this Ranger affiliation on his Face Book Page and his CalicoForge website. He also claims he went to Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. Whitworth University is a private Christian University. I ask myself and others, do you believe an honorable U.S. Army Ranger and a Christian would be scamming customers the way Mr. Franco allegedly has been doing? In my opinion, it is sad that Mr. Franco has chosen this path of fraudulently misrepresenting himself as a trustworthy knife maker and business enterprise. If you know him personally, I beseech you to provide counsel to this man. Perhaps he has an emotional or mental condition causing this apparent aberrant behavior. Im not a trained mental health expert therefore I speculate on his intent on deceiving customers. Nevertheless, Im puzzled by, and I wonder what other ailment Mr. Franco may have that would cause him to jeopardize his reputation and knife-making career. If you do not personally know Andy Franco, perhaps he is a tortured soul and a lonely man. Please befriend him and counsel him on the alleged errors of his ways. It is a terrible event to watch Mr. Franco fall on his own petard. Please dont take my word on allegations rising against Mr. Franco by other customers. For example, just undertake a search at Blades Forum. Others are writing about the negative experiences with Andy Franco and his Calico Forge Knife Company. Additionally, in about two weeks you may consider a Google search. I plan to write a litany of consumer affair reviews of Mr. Francos business practices and alleged lack of ethics with his customers. I also plan to alert all the knife making associations and guilds, including the Idaho Knife makers Guild. In sum, Caveat Emptor= buyer beware! Your patience is appreciated. Sincerely, Ken McD...
