Attn: Women who love to sew A short time ago I posted the photo of the shower curtain that I made from a full flat sheet. Several years ago I bought an older portable Singer Sewing Machine with attachments from eBay. I had no idea how to use the ruffle attachment so I found a video on Youtube the other day. I tried the ruffle attachment but found that it didnt work. So I started looking at eBay, but then didnt want to buy a second hand one and end up with the same problem of it not working. I saw one advertised on a website that would fit my machine, but they wanted $29.99 + shipping. So I figured that I would call Sew-Vac where Ive had my sewing machines and vacuum cleaners repaired. Its a father and son business and they always do excellent work. I asked over the phone if he had a ruffle attachment in stock, he said that he would check. He had a brand new one in the box that he purchased 20 years ago that would fit my Singer Model for $20.00 + tax. What a savings! I removed the ruffles from two matching pillow cases, and by the time I removed all the stiches I had two long strips of fabric. And I was hoping they would be long enough to add a ruffle to the top of the shower curtain. I ran the strips of fabric through my ruffle attachment, and then sewed both strips together to make one long ruffle. Pinned it on the shower curtain, then did the final sewing job. Photos of before and after.
