Attock Club Annex SBP I-Day Blind Cricket Title. Sports lovers of Punjab continued to throng in various grounds to witness Independence Day sports activities across the province on Tuesday. It is pertinent to mention here that Independence Day sports tournaments are being organized under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab (SBP). According to information made available here, Attock Cricket Club for Blind clinched the cricket title in Attock. They trounced Razia Sultana School XI, Special Education Centre Hazru XI and Special Education Centre Attock XI on their way to title victory. Huma B Football Club beat Jigar Club in a football clash. A poetry competition was also staged in Attock in connection with Independence Day. A large number of young poets read their poetry but Jahangir Ashraf was declared winner. Tehsil Haroonabad won the Inter-Tehsil Hockey Tournament in Bahawalnagar. They defeated tehsil Fort Abbas in the title clash after a thrilling contest. Ghulam Dastgir and Noman Shareef sprinted to glory in the Inter-Tehsil 50m race in Liaqatpur. The title of Inter-Tehsil Girls Volleyball went to Mode Girls High School Liaqatpur who thrashed Girls Post-Graduate College in the final match. The next Independence Day sports activity was seen in Vehari where Rehan Ali, Waqas Akbar, M Fahad, M Akram and Javed Shah were adjudged winners in Inter-Tehsil Badminton competition. Deena Combined Club registered twin cricket victories against Cantt Combined and New Young Star Combined Club in cricket matches played in Jhelum. As many as 20 players of four tehsils featured in Inter-Tehsil Weightlifting Championship in Rahim Yar Khan. Shahid Khan adjudged triumphant in 94kg category. The title of 75kg class went to Laeeq Ahmed, while Ahmed Raza and Anwar Ahmed grabbed the titles of 70kg and 65kg respectively. The Inter-Tehsil Bodybuilding contest saw 18 players in the field. Shah Khalid, Taimoor, Fahad Zulfiqar and M Ali won the titles of 75kg, 70kg, 65kg and 60kg respectively. Inter-Tehsil Karate Championship was also organized in Rahimyar Khan. Overall 36 participants take part in this sports activity. Raheel outclassed his opponents in the 65kg category while Qamar Abbas and Amir Shahzad also thrashed their rivals in 60kg and 55kg class respectively. The title of Inter-Tehsil Tug-of-War was won by tehsil Rahimyar Khan. Tehsil Liaqatpur was the losing side in this contest. Mianwali organised a cricket tournament in which Piplan Cricket Club outplayed Sohail Club in title clash convincingly. Renala Kabaddi Club whipped Faridia Club in a kabaddi matches played in Okara.
