Attorney General Hisham Barakat has ordered the detention of 35 people for 15 days pending investigations after they were arrested on accusations of forming networks with terrorism purposes and receiving training from violent Islamist groups, including the Islamic State group (IS), the State-owned MENA reported Sunday. The Ministry of Interior released a press statement published on their official Facebook page Saturday saying that there are five gangs or “terrorist cells” across the country with ties to extremist groups in Syria, and that the arrested members were involved in terrorist attacks on security forces ow.ly/DGYMs
