Auckland City for Youth Peace Awards Youth in Auckland who have contributed to peace building in their community can be nominated for the Auckland City for Peace Youth Awards. Local boards can nominate youth, who made significant contribution to peaceful conflict resolution programmes and practices, celebrating cultural and ethnic diversity, human rights or caring for the environment. The two age groups eligible for the Awards are: 13-18 years old; and 19-24 years old. Nominations can only be made by local boards. Please contact your local board to submit nominations. Nominations close on 12 November 2013, 5 pm. Winners of the Awards will receive framed certificate, peace resource kit, and membership to Youth Peace Ambassador that makes the winners eligible for free training on teen communication, conflict resolution and mediation and gives them opportunities to lead and participate in peace activities and events in the region and nationally.
