Auckland hotels unwillingness to pay workers called disagraceful. The unwillingness of an Auckland hotel to pay its workers what it owes them, is being called a disgrace. The ERA last week ordered the Harbour Oaks Hotel to pay three years of unpaid wages and entitlements to Nancy and Abraham Agustin, totalling almost $80,000. But the Union Network of Migrants says the money deposited this week is still below minimum wage. Spokesman Dennis Maga says the hotels also requesting an extension to the 10 days in which theyre legally required to pay. Mr Maga says its a prime example of why businesses unwilling to meet minimum standards should be barred from operating here.
