Audra McDonald made history at the 68th annual Tony Awards last night when she took home her sixth-ever Tony for best lead actress in a play for her portrayal of Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson Bar & Grill. The award makes her the biggest Tony winner of all time, surpassing five-time winners Angela Lansbury and the late Julie Harris. Meanwhile, Neil Patrick Harris took home his first Tony for lead actor in a musical for his role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Bryan Cranston also snagged his first Tony, taking home best lead actor in a play for playing former President Lyndon B. Johnson in All the Way, which also won best play. And the Best Musical of the Year went to A Gentlemans Guide to Love and Murder.
