Audrey Doherty Dance Audrey Doherty has been invloved in Oriental Dance (Raqs Sharqi) for almost 15 years and currently teaches and performs. She has always chosen her teachers carefully with Anne White being her first and main teacher. Other teachers include Amani of Lebanon whos dance troupe Audrey performed in at the Shaw Theatre in London, Sandra of Nice, Egypt based Sara Farouk Ahmed, Cynthia Tabone - one of the dance scenes best Raqs al Assaya teachers,and Amel Tafsout from Algeria. She has also performed in various music videos including in a music documentary with a Moroccan Gnawa band for BBC Turkey. Audreys dance journey - under the mentoring of Anne White - led her to work on one of Londons most successful Oriental dance and music events, Planet Egypt Showcase. This in turn led her to work in a similar role for high profile artists such as Hossam Ramzy. Audreys performance skills were honed mainly in London where she also embraced the world of live Arabic music.
