Audrey Hepburn had nobles in her family tree. From her mothers - TopicsExpress

Audrey Hepburn had nobles in her family tree. From her mothers Ella van Heemstra (1900–1984) side, she was related to the Dutch nobility (but not Queen Beatrix herself). Ella was part of the Van Heemstra family, whose the genealogy begins back in 1492. After the founding of the Kingdom of the Netherlands the Van Heemstra family was recognized as belonging to Dutch nobility with the title of Baron. See below for the titles of her parents and grandparents: Baroness Ella van Heemstra (1900–1984) & Joseph Hepburn-Ruston (1889–1980) Aarnoud van Heemstra, Baron van Heemstra, Mayor of Arnhem (1910 to 1920) and Governor of Suriname (1921 to 1928) & Elbrig Willemine Henriette, Baroness van Asbeck (1873–1939). It was also believed that her father was noble, but this proved wrongful: Joseph Hepburn-Ruston (1889–1980) mistakenly assumed the surname Hepburn believing himself descended from James Hepburn, third husband of Mary, Queen of Scots.
