Aug 14: So the bottom line is that the situation [involving the Yazidis] on the mountain has greatly improved and Americans should be proud of our efforts. We broke the ISIL siege on Mount Sinjar, we helped vulnerable people reach safety and we helped save many innocent lives. Because of these efforts we do not expect there to be any additional efforts to evacuate people off the mountain, and its unlikely that we are going to need to continue humanitarian air drops on the mountain. The majority of military personnel who conducted the assessment will be leaving Iraq in the coming days Aug 15: 80 Yazidi Iraqis were slaughtered by ISIL. Once again the President has prematurely claimed success that was not warranted. Just as he claimed victory in Iraq, where they have now returned to again after he pulled American forces out in 2011. Just as he claimed to have defeated Al-Qaeda, which the current threat ISIS has branched off from and is even more evil and sinister than their previous faction. Why is he still doing this? Hasnt he learned from his previous mistakes. Out of sight. Out of mind. Out of touch. On vacation.
