Aug 4th Day 5 We started our day with French toast it was a hit…they seem to have had it before or were familiar. Then we ventured out to the Ponte Posse Ranch. We had Pesto pasta with grilled chicken, sour dough bread with butter and Heirloom Tomatoes with balsamic. The boys liked the pasta. I had to make Tsuyoshi try it but liked it. Then we started the afternoons events off. My sister rocks she and my awesome niece Hailey created a farm filled action packed day for the boys. We picked up Ben Charlie’s 16 year old brother in Petaluma he road the bus up from SF and he joined us out at the ranch. So we picked black berries to add to the coffee cake batter Tracy had prepped and backed it off. Then it was out to the hay loft. They played with the barn cats and pet their dogs. The tractor tire swing was a big hit as well. Then they were treated to riding Hailey’s horse Roger. We posed them with bandana and cowboy hats total photo opportunity. Then each boy got a ride in the ring. The next stop was a tractor/hay ride around the ranch. Followed up by some dessert home made vanilla ice cream with our coffee cake. They found walnuts under the tree and were curious what they were. So I stepped on one and showed them. Then out came the nut crackers and picks they liked the English Walnuts and the Gravenstein apples. Ben made them friendship bracelets let them pick their colors and made a rope like pattern. Super sweet…he was fresh off of camp with craft supplies and all. The cake and ice cream were a big hit. So then we were all pretty tuckered out so we relaxed in front of the TV for some shark week they were all fascinated. When we got home it was time to feed them again so we did a hodge podge dinner left over pizza, rice, cold cereal for some and bagels for others. Oh ya and don’t forget sea weed snacks for Ben and Charlie. I got three showered two Japanese boys cramming in their homework till 11pm. While we blew up a pump before the extra air mattress was filled then I resorted to blowing up a much smaller raft for Charlie to sleep on. I thought the boys were jammed in with three add Ben and they are cram packed. Folding laundry, packing and prepping for 5 sack lunches and our big trip with all of the Japanese students to Sacramento Capital building, Old Sac and a train museum. I made Tsuyoshi help me sort out whose laundry was whose…it was humorous I taught him “mine” which was delivered with a smile every time he said it. So he would say Riki or mine and I would say Charlie for Charlie’s. It was silly and entertaining. The boys said thank you and bowed to me for doing their laundry they need to teach Charlie that…some how doing laundry didn’t feel like such a task when being appreciated or honored with a bow.
