August 1, 2014 - February 28, 2014 December 3, 2014 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. Isaiah 46:10 I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass. Isaiah 48:3 So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 Look at the nations and watch-- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told. Habakkuk 1:5 Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish. Isaiah 42:9 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will now restore the fortunes of Jacob and will have compassion on all the people of Israel, and I will be zealous for my holy name. Ezekiel 39:25 December 3, 2015 - Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish. WITH WONDER UPON WONDER. Isaiah 48:17 tells us - Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. With wonder upon wonder. In the 48th chapter of Isaiah, you get to see some of the personality of God through His conversation. You can see that God is a caring and compassionate God. You can see that God is confident. He tells them that He alone is God. He is Alpha and Omega. You can also tell that one of God’s core values is for His people to prosper. He is the God that teaches and directs. He teaches them how to profit and leads them in the way they should go. God tells them if they had only listened to Him and followed His commandment, they would have had peace flowing like a river. God wanted them to live a fulfilling, success life that was profitable. He did not want them owing anyone. He would teach them to profit. What an awesome promise! For a business to make a profit, it must make more money than it spends. Every company in business must make more than they spend in order to stay open. Businesses spend millions of dollars on books, programs and consultants every year trying to figure out how to do this. Yet we hear God promising Israel that He will teach them to profit. That promise is available to us today. But we must not be afraid to step out on the things that God tells us to do. Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish. WITH WONDER UPON WONDER. So don’t be afraid of those great, money making ideas that are inspired by God. Notice, it did not say that He was the God that teaches us just how to get by, but the God that teaches us how to profit. God has not changed. He is still the best business consultant there is. His book, the Bible, has been on the best sellers’ list for as long as there has been one. God wants me to be successful. He has promised to lead and guide me. I will follow His instructions and seek Him when I am confused. I am gratefully rejoicing for the promise that God will teach me to profit. Matthew 6:33 tells us - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. John 10:10 tells us - The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Jesus not only came to give us eternal life, He came to give us abundant life. Eternal life speaks of our life in Christ after this experience of living is over. Abundant life speaks of this present life. The dictionary tells us that the word abundant means “present in great quantity; more than adequate; over sufficient; well supplied; abounding, richly supplied”. But what did it mean in Jesus’ day? The word translated abundantly here is the Greek word perissos. According to the Strong’s Dictionary of Greek words, perissos means “exceeding some number or measure or rank or need, over and above, more than is necessary, superadded, exceeding abundantly, supremely, something further, more, much more than all, more plainly, superior, extraordinary, surpassing, uncommon, pre-eminence, superiority, advantage, more eminent, more remarkable, more excellent”. It is clear that for many of us, we are living beneath our means. Although the thief comes to kill, steal and destroy, I have learned that through Jesus I have been given authority over all of the power of the enemy. Therefore, I will accept the superior, exceeding, more remarkable, more excellent life that has been promised to me by Jesus. I rejoice and I am grateful for the promise of an abundant life. Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish. WITH WONDER UPON WONDER. You were created and designed to experience wonder. Woven into the fabric of our humanity is an innate ability and desire for the wonder of God. It’s felt in the moments when you watch the sun melt behind the horizon, when you reach out to cradle a baby and smell the sweet scent of new life, when you can’t help but smile as you witness two wrinkled souls renew their vows to each other. Such moments remind us we were made for something more. God still longs to take your breath away. Isaiah 29:14 records God’s desire for me - for you: “Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder.” God is busting at the seams to display His glory, power, and might in your life. And He wants to give you the greatest gift of all—Himself. the wonder of God awaits in the midst of your routine, in the middle of your everyday. I have began discovering the wonder of God for I changed the way I prayed. Instead of asking for answers from God, I began praying for wonder. And God has began to answer in ways I could have never imagined. fullness of life. I realized that it is time for me to truly recognize the presence of God in the midst of my routine - to truly begin to unearth extraordinary moments on ordinary days - to develop a renewed passion for God. Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish. WITH WONDER UPON WONDER.
