August 1, 2014 - February 28, 2015 October 18, 2014 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not lack. Psalm 23:1 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me, declares the LORD. Isaiah 54:17 Surely then you will find delight in the Almighty and will lift up your face to God. Job 22:26 May my meditation be pleasing to Him, as I rejoice in the LORD. Psalm 104:34 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Psalm 4:4 Rejoice always. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 October 18, 2014 - But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU AS WELL. As I read this Scripture this morning - came to a moment in my mind - back to me - back to who God created me to be. I have truly been exhausted and a little overwhelmed for the last month - but I kept on pushing - because you see that is who I am - but yesterday - I rested - and today I am going to rest. Because you see I realized that each morning as I arise I get up and I praise God - I tell my loved ones that I love them and I move forward knowing that all I need - all that is needed will be given to me as well and to my husband and my children and my grandchildren and my great-grandchildren - because God has told me so. Life is not so much about what you do or where you go; but it is about who you become in the process. It’s not the outside that matters most, but it is your beauty within. I pray that you too might find your inner roar. Life rarely works out the way we plan, but each time it goes in a different direction, it is merely a divine invitation to yourself. The world is your sacred classroom, and your life is a persistent teacher. We are always being invited to become stronger, better, and more determined. That determination is not just for the tangible goals we set, but it is the shear will to be true to yourself. It is the secret of knowing that you are already more than enough and within you is everything you need for the assignment God has given you. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU AS WELL. Life would be so easy if all we had to do was set a vision and follow it; but its about the journey remember, not just the destination. But too often we expend so much energy trying to “get there” that we forget that there are lessons we must learn. Every challenge is nothing more than a crash course, but if we refuse to slow down and pay attention, we find ourselves frustrated with our life and feeling as if something has gone drastically wrong. But our anxiety is nothing more than our hearts begging us to go to God for the answer. And depression is just a symptom we feel when we are on detour from our destiny. All of us are in search of peace, which comes only when we know our place in the world. Take some time to meditate and listen for the whistle blowing telling you to stop. When you are frustrated don’t go faster on life’s hamster wheel, but discipline yourself to feel the feelings, as God is always willing to point out the much needed lesson. And as the season is changing, I pray that you are too. May you know what matters most and may you use every lesson as a stepping stone to your next level. You are still on Divine assignment and more than what you make in the world; God is looking to see what you might make of yourself. More than anything, I pray you might “become”. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU AS WELL. You have to know that nothing in your life is a mistake, a coincidence, or some mishap. And struggling and fighting against yourself doesn’t allow you to see what God is doing. In fact we end up missing our blessings. We have to get to the place when we are willing to accept our story, while recognizing the end has yet to be told. You have to believe that you are not here on earth to suffer, but to show God’s glory. If that sounds a bit philosophical to you, just think about all the other beautiful things in creation. All of us admire the beauty of the trees, flowers, rivers, and mountains; but keep in mind most things in nature start small and underground; they grow into their greatness. And just like a baby that starts as a beautiful embryo seed; your life is in a process and what you are going through right now is a necessary phase. And like everything else that we consider beautiful, there isn’t one part of the process that can be skipped. So as we begin to get to the heart of the matter on this day, I urge you to stop your struggling. Stop your fighting. Realize that where you are is a necessary part of the process. And each time you spend your energy wishing your life was something other than what it is, you are suffering. When you reject your life, you really reject yourself. And this journey is about loving you; embracing you. So lift up your arms beautiful one; stop your fighting, and surrender to the process. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU AS WELL. I hope you have learned by now that no matter what you do in life, people will always have something to say. People tend to make you the subject of conversation when you are struggling and when you are doing well. In the age of social media, just about everybody has an opinion that they feel they need to express. And if there is one thing that I would consider to be a major issue on the journey to living to our highest potential, it is being held hostage to what other people think. Just think about how you would live if you weren’t concerned about other people’s opinion. Think about the risk you would take if you didn’t care what others had to say about you. But even more than the opinions of other people, we are even more affected by what we have to say about ourselves. And for most of us, that voice inside our head can be down-right vicious. I have already shared with you our tendency to play the role and make ourselves presentable those we have to see each day. But underneath the nice presentation is often a voice in our ear reminding us of every mistake, telling us how crazy we must look to others, and tempting us to just give up. All of us have this kind of emotional schizophrenia, as we are constantly doing battle with the voices within. But on this day, I invite you to tell those voices were they can go and be the person that you know deep down that God has said you are. At this point in your life it really doesn’t matter what family members, crazy employers, or other toxic people have said about you. All that matters is what you know to be true and what you say about yourself each day. Words have so much power, and even a lie will begin to sound like the truth if you listen to it often enough. And in the same way, you will have an amazing life if you speak greatness to your own spirit. Even if you aren’t sure if you believe it, just say it. You are God’s beloved. You are the apple of His eye. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are loved, forgiven, and full of God’s power. You really are able to be and do more than you can ever even think or imagine according to the power that is at work within you. So who really cares what people have to say. Open your own mouth and say something wonderful to yourself. What do you need to start saying to yourself? Challenge yourself to write your own affirmation/ declaration and then boldly say it to yourself today and everyday. Write your declaration with who you will be in mind; not who you have been. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU AS WELL. So often we loose faith and confidence in ourselves because we tend to interpret pain as a consequence of failure. When really pain is just an indication that something in your body or in your life needs attention. I truly believe there is no such thing as failure, there are only lessons. And if we are willing to tell the truth, some of us have needed to repeat the same lesson over and over again. So on this day, which represents new beginnings, I must ask you what have you learned from your life so far? What have your choices revealed about yourself? What are the patterns in your life that lead you away from your destiny? You have to know this, because if you don’t, you will continually find yourself in left field wondering how in the world you got there. But most of us are just too afraid to go there. We just want the pain to go away. We want a passing grade on the test, although we clearly haven’t learned the necessary lesson. Most of us think that we have mastered something when really we are just locked up in isolation so that nobody can challenge us. This is why you only learn patience, when life requires that you wait. You learn faith, when everything seems to be working against you. You learn forgiveness only after you know what it’s like to make a mistake. You learn the value of money only when you know what it’s like to have none. As you journey to the deepest parts of yourself, may your pain and your tears not be wasted. But let me invite you to dig a little deeper to learn what God would have you learn. Your life has not been designed to punish you. Quite the contrary; you have been crafted for a purpose. There is wisdom to be gained; there are lessons to be taught. And your life is just the laboratory you need to teach you. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU AS WELL.
