August 1,2014 - February 28, 2015 September 5, 2014 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us-- yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair. 2 Corinthians 4:8 Persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. Corinthians 4:9 But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Hebrews 10:35 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58 September 5, 2014 - Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. - STAND FIRM - LET NOTHING MOVE YOU. Before you can face a giant in your life – a major obstacle or hurdle, you need to know that you’re a child of the living God. You need to know who you are and Whose you are. A child of the Living God. When you are convinced about your identity, then you can begin to confront and tear down the giant in your life. Paul tells the Corinthian believers “stand firm and let nothing move you”. God has done His part in preparing and establishing you. And now you and I have to stand firm and let nothing move us. In a moment of confrontation, in a moment of potential threat or weakness, we need to remember who we are, Whose we are, our God-given ability to stand firm and just do it! Insist on it and persist in it. Let nothing move us. Nothing. No one. Not even something or someone extremely powerful or wonderfully tempting. God has empowered us, His Spirit lives in us, now what we need to do is to appropriate that strength and power in order to defeat the giant! As you walk with God today, no matter how tough your situation may be, how no one else may fully understand your predicament, fear not, for the Lord your God has not abandoned you. He is with you to help you face your giant or giants. There is nothing that is too difficult for Him! “Nothing nothing, absolutely nothing, nothing is too difficult for Thee” Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. - STAND FIRM - LET NOTHING MOVE YOU. I am a child of the living God! No weapon formed against me shall prosper and nothing can separate me from the love of God. Because He loves me, He will lead and guide me, protect me and honor me as I honor Him. As long as I make the Lord my Shepherd, I shall never lack anything. I need not chase after goodness and mercy, instead they will follow me all the days of my life! As God is for me, who can be against me? When I follow the Lord and walk in His ways, I am the head and not the tail, I am above and not beneath. Even though I may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, even though I may sometimes look like a tail, my circumstances do not define nor change my identity. I remain the head and not the tail, I am above and not beneath because God is with me. Jesus looked like a tail when He was hanging on the cross and when He was dead in the tomb. But all of that did not change His identity, He was still the Head of the Church and He was still the King of kings and the Lord of lords! Unknown to the devil, God had a plan that would totally surprise everyone, He raised Jesus from the dead on the third day! So as you walk with God today, do not be afraid of anything or anyone. Do not be intimidated for if you have made the Lord your Shepherd, then you will lack nothing. You may look like a tail for a season, but victory is yours eventually because evil cannot triumph over good, unrighteousness cannot supersede righteousness. So be strong and don’t stop believing in the Lord. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. - STAND FIRM - LET NOTHING MOVE YOU. In life we will have trials. We will have struggles. To grow is to stretch ourselves. With this come risks. So we step out in faith; and even then, we can have times of fear, doubt and anxiety. Many times we avoid conflict, hide from our struggles or simply try to escape pain through various ways. We can simply try and ignore our pressures but sooner or later avoidance won’t work anymore. We have to face the situation we find ourselves in. The good news is that God is faithful. He knows our struggles, He knows our limitations. Through Paul the Apostle, God encourages us to stand firm and to let nothing move us. We can do this because of the love and power of God. Even Jesus knew that in this life we would have tribulation so He encourages us not to let our hearts be troubled. Why? Because we believe in God. It is not just what we believe, it is who we believe in! God is almighty. He is all loving. And God is for us. He loves us. He is our strength. So today, put all your trust in God. Stand firm, exercise your faith and give all your struggles, trials and temptations to Him.
