August 10, 2014 SCNC: BARRISTER BAWAK FEARED DEAD BY AYAH Paul ABINE Barrister Bawak went to Nigeria mid-July to buy a coffin for the burial of Chief Ayamba, the deceased national chairman of SCNC, and to print some funeral paraphernalia, including the funeral booklets. On his way back to Southern Cameroons, security agents of la Republique du Cameroun arrested him at Ekok along with some other persons coming for the said funeral. The coffin and the paraphernalia were seized and impounded. Over two weeks since and there is no information about the whereabouts of Barrister Bawak. The legal, administrative and security/military authorities at Mamfe are unwilling or unable to release any information even as to whether Barrister Bawak is alive or dead. Ayah Paul returned from Mamfe only this morning wholly frustrated that Barrister Bawak’s whereabouts remain totally unknown. It would be recalled that on at least two separate occasions, unarmed students of the University of Buea have been shot and killed upon simply being branded as “SCNC”. That has instilled fear in many that Barrister Bawak may have lost his life similarly. Where are we?
