August 12, 2014 Today, I spent the morning at the Cross Cancer - TopicsExpress

August 12, 2014 Today, I spent the morning at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, receiving a full body CT scan, also aided by a controlled dye injection. I then had a previously scheduled medical with one of my Oncologists in the afternoon. Now normally we would not have any results back so quickly but a resident and my assigned Oncologist, indicated the results were back already and although would require more review (for my scheduled medical next week), there was some good and some maybe not so good cursory information. The good news, that the originally discovered ‘spots’, although still active, have barely grown. The Doctor indicated an amazement that they were growing so slowly for this type of cancer. The less positive news is that there has been some enlargement of some lymph nodes in the lung area but that there was no blockage of anything at this time. They indicated that this was even to be expected. So, some relief but still concerned. I will be receiving a more precise review next week with my chemo Oncologist, but unless there are any surprises, I believe that we will not do chemo at this time. Maybe another CT scan and review in three to six months depending on the fine tune analysis, will say otherwise. Needless to say, Korie-Lyn and I are feeling a bit more optimistic. I really believe that all those positive thoughts, prayers and beliefs have made a difference. So for now, I continue the battle. Thankyou to all of you for your kind words and support!
