August 12th I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 When Brit woke up this morning, his Aunt Steph told him it was going to be a great day ... and she was right!! Today, Brit stood for the first time since June 22nd! The therapists planned to simply introduce him to the parallel bars and begin the process of orienting him to standing again. As the therapists were instructing us on the proper way to transfer Brit from the chair to another surface, they placed Brits feet on the floor and he began to stand on his own! While he needed assistance for balance and endurance, he was bearing much of the weight on his own! He did this four times! The therapists were shocked and thrilled with his effort! Brit has always pushed himself hard to accomplish a task, so we werent shocked at his effort - but we were surprised he accomplished so much on the first try!!! Tomorrow the physicians plan to cap Brits trach for the entire day. Today, Brit was capped for 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours this evening. Everything went perfectly! Please continue to pray for complete healing for our Brit! Also, pray that the trach capping trial goes well! Brit is exceeding everyones expectations and we know Who is responsible for his progress!
