More than that, I now regard all things as liabilities compared to the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things—indeed, I regard them as dung!—that I may gain Christ, Consecration is the voluntary dedication of oneself to God. It is the setting apart of all we are, all we have, and all we expect to have or be. God must always come first. It is not so much the giving of ourselves to the church. We must focus our eyes on God; He is the Source of all consecration. It is a separation of oneself to God, a devoting of all that He is and has to a sacred use. Consecration has a sacred nature. It is devoted to holy ends. It is putting yourself willingly into Gods hands to be used sacredly, with sanctifying ends in view.
