Africa is coups d’etat aplenty. Cameroun’s image was tainted in 1984. Africa is drought, epidemic and famine. The Grand Nord is Cameroun’s virus. Africa’s Southern Sudan is Cameroun’s Southern Cameroons. Very symmetrical: “southern” is in both – umbilical symbioses. Africa is the map of Cameroun overturned. Cameroun is the African desert; the African equatorial forest, the sea, the mountain, the fauna. Who says the exception is that “Cameroun is an island of peace in a turbulent sea”? Nursery school rhyme! Knoweth not that Seleka is the eastern spill-over? What about Boko Haram the northern marauders? Is the southern sea tranquil, piracy and Bakassi? Verily I say unto you: should Cameroun persist in nonchalant refusal to dialogue with Southern Cameroonians, and in brutalizing those peace-loving doves in their own nests; forcing them to take cover in so doing, Cameroun would soon be fighting a war on four fronts. The four cardinal points closed, Cameroun would be reduced to a vicious circle without a missing link for oxygen. Long live Southern Cameroons!
