August 2013 - Blessed Dormition! "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." (Psalm 90:12) Greetings! I recently went to the hospital due to shortness of breath and a constant cough. I went through many tests and was surprised that I had acute bronchitis. While I was waiting for the other test results, I had a chance to review some letters I recently received from some prisoners. Here is what one of the prisoners wrote: "Father, in here all you have are your memories. I have written a poem for you: Oh how the times have changed, The things I once held to have passed me by so quickly by~ reminding me of my yesteryears, and the future of my life I know it is mister time going by me Faces they change And the race of aging has come across my life Reminding me of my yesteryears, I shall never go back I know its mister time going by me Hey mister time, won’t you save me a few old dusty memories, Father of time, please remember me.... in your kingdom."(Terrence in Texas) While I read this poem, tears came to my eyes. We all age and have memories of our younger life, but the greatest words of all , through all our time on this earth is "Lord, remember me in your Kingdom".
