August 23, 2014 BE KIND AND GENEROUS We all know people who are generous to others. These people were either raised in a home where they were taught these values or they learned them through situations in life. Either way, a kind and generous person is one who is pleasant to be around. If we don’t have both of these qualities, it is possible to practice them and learn them. We can have the self-control to show kindness and generosity in all we do when we depend on God, when we put others’ needs before our own and when give our lives completely to Him. Ephesians 4:32 “Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” (NLT) Dear Lord, we thank You for the qualities of kindness and generosity You have instilled in others and in us. We know many people who show these qualities and we are so grateful for them. We pray You will help us to see where we can improve in our kindness and our generosity. Help us to not be selfish but to have the self-control to do Your will and give to others, show kindness to others and share Your word with them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
