August 23 marks the one year anniversary--the day I found my little D.O.G. almost dead, bleeding out from a ruptured spleen/mass. Against the odds, I asked for the ER vet to do the surgery and give him a chance. Five days in intensive care, a blood transfusion and $4000 later, I got my boy back home. On August 30th, the vet called to tell me that the tumor was BENIGN!!! She cried on the phone with me and said she hopes he lives to be 20. In October he will be 14 and I treasure every day we have together. There are a few happy endings with this horrible disease--please remember--Where there is life, there is hope. My heart goes out to those of you who didnt win the battle, but I celebrate with those of you who did beat the odds. I appreciate all the love and support and hope I can continue to do the same for others
