August 26th will always be a date deeply embedded in my heart. 11 yrs ago today, for some reason, reasons we will never know, my mother decided it was time to take her own life. Although she wasnt officially taken off of life support until the 27th, my world was rocked to the core on this date in history. I remember that day as if it was happening right now. The feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, desperation, anger, sadness, shame, the guilt, the sleepless nights, the whys, the what ifs, the hatred towards God, the wanting to die, and the unknown. I can finally say that after 11 years, I have learned to forgive her and put aside the unknown. There are people here on this earth that deserve to have a happy healthy me! Suicide destroys people, families, children, mothers, fathers, friends, and lives! I have now devoted my life to God, and my family and friends, and raising awareness for depression and suicide. I LOVE you and MISS you still every single day Mom!
