August 28, 2014 -- The first day of school and it went good for Gage. He didnt have any issues throughout the day and he enjoyed getting to see his friends. I think Lionel and I had more issues with sending him to school then he did. This evening Gage, Lionel and I all went the open house at school and got to go around to all his classrooms and hear about what he will be learning this year. It is nice how many of his teachers will be utilizing the iPads and other forms of technology in the classroom. Most teachers will have assignments available online so keeping up with his school work while he is absent will be much easier than I thought. I got a call from Dr. Rosens office this morning requesting Gage get lab work drawn either today or tomorrow morning. His counts from the lab work drawn at Mondays appointment were low, and Dr. Rosen wanted them checked again before the weekend. His WBC was 1.1 and HGB was 7.3 on Monday. Grandma Billie picked him up from school and took him to have his lab drawn. The results were not not any better...WBC 0.8, HGB 7.4, Platelets 95. He his going to have to be very careful at school and this weekend. Prayers that he can stay healthy with his counts that low. I failed to tell about Gages misadventure on the 4 wheeler yesterday. He managed to get it stuck in the mud and walked about a half mile back to the house to get some help. He was pretty upset that he had to walk and he thought he would be in trouble. I was just glad he wasnt hurt and him and I managed to get it towed out of the mud. I think he will be more careful and watch out for the mud when he rides. Once we got done at the school this evening we took Gage to his moms. He will spend the weekend at her house. Polly & Lionel
