August 2nd, 2013CANADA Saskatchewan Crop Damage Update Most parts of the province received varying amounts of rain last week ranging from a trace to 43 mm. Disease, insects and localized flooding caused the majority of crop damage. Grasshoppers and bertha armyworm have been reported in some areas. Southeastern Saskatchewan - The Kisbey and Stoughton areas reported severe hail damage. Pastures are remaining green due to the moisture. Southwestern Saskatchewan - Hail damage was reported in the Bengough, Lisieux, Assiniboia, Cabri and Tyner areas. Some areas are reporting pulse crops are starting to turn. East-Central Saskatchewan - The majority of crop damage this week is due to flooding and disease. Ascochyta and sclerotinia in pulses has been reported in some areas.
