August 3 2014, one of the happiest and proudest days of life. Pictured here are 1/3rd of my summer bridge students. Over the past six weeks I have had the privilege to meet these amazing students and to get to know them on a deeper level than most people I know. I have seen them at their lowest, struggling with the rigor of Berkeley, along with trying to find a home in a scary new place, but today I got to see them all at their highest. Today’s one of the many days that they’ll have over their next four years at Cal when they reflect and finally see that all of their hard work is finally paying off, myself included! The look on our faces says it all! Being a Peer Academic Counselor has truly been an amazing and humbling experience so far. I am glad to have had an impact on my students. However, I learned just as much from them, as they did from me; for that, I am grateful. I know I say this almost every year, but this summer has definitely been the best summer of my life so far.
