August 5th... Wow what a day...our lil maddie got to come home.. We started the day with rounds with the doctors and nurses... Discharge summaries and last signatures... Then we took her off the monitorS! What a whole new realm of emotion but as Justin and I sat with our happy tears.. We knew Our baby had earned it.. So we rejoiced! She did amazing and I was even able to snuggle her in my wrap so I could be more hands free... She LOvED it! The girls had matching outfits today so we gave them some snuggle time before we had to leave. Poor emmie had a really rough day with her eating so we stayed to be with her longer for snuggles and love... It was so hard to leave but we dressed maddie for going home and tucked emmie back to bed! Prayers for our lil emmie as she is struggling to endure her bottles and reflux! So then you may ask.. How did maddie do? She loved it!! We put her in her car seat and she fell asleep and we snapped her in and took our journey home without one peep! She enjoyed every bit of her first car ride!! Waiting at the door was our jimmy (the family bulldog) and ready to greet us but it took him a few minutes to realize what was in this strange shaped new package mom and dad were bringin home! He adapted well and is now sleeping at the foot of her rock and play! This lil quiet room is very different than the surrounding she is used to for the last 110 days.. But we are so excited for this next step in our journey... Praise be to Jesus who is our healer and sustainer! Now this momma is going to get some sleep... All our love to you all. Nighty night
